BISHOP FRANCO MUNARI

Encyclopedia > Franco Munari

Franco Munari is a traditionalist Catholic bishop. He was ordained priest on June 29, 1982 at Econe, Switzerland by Marcel Lefebvre and consecrated bishop on November 25, 1987 in Ravaux, France by Guerard des Lauriers as a Sedeprivationist bishop, assigned to Rome, Italy.

It is claimed that he lost the faith and eloped with a woman to Madagascar, ceasing to function as a priest and bishop for a long time, but has recently returned to the faith, separated from his companion and ministers in Madagascar and its neighborhood, where he keeps a low profile. He is, however, in contact with Bishop Anthony Chadwick in France and others in the Traditionalist Catholic movement.
